Robin Woodell, CFP®, CEPA® Founder & Financial Planner
The origin of Emerald Financial Group belief that each client is a precious gem, with unique facets that require individualized planning specific to their financial situation, can be traced back to Robin’s own nontraditional path into the financial services industry in 2005.
She graduated with an undergraduate degree in education and a master’s in vocal performance, then followed her passion to become a professional opera singer. After eight years of traveling the world, a series of life changes resulted in her exiting the performance world. She found a new passion in financial planning.
Shifting from vocal performing to financial planning was a more natural transition than some might assume, particularly due to the similar skills required to excel in the art and science of both disciplines. The science of each requires consistency, long-term strategy, and technical skill – while the art involves personal expression, active listening, and continuous improvement.
Robin enjoys that financial planning allows her to engage in a creative process to find solutions for our clients in tangible ways. She’s intimately involved in:
- The construction of comprehensive financial plans that assist families and small businesses with clarifying their financial goals and objectives
- Recommending appropriate strategies
- Managing investments to help each client attain their desired financial objectives
She enhanced her ability to serve individuals, families, and business owners by investing in the education and training required to become a Certified Financial Planner® and Certified Exit Planning Advisor®.
Robin has received citations and recognition over the years related to service, entry into the annuities Masters’ Council, and national acknowledgement with a financial planner of the year. She is specially trained and certified to speak to groups around the Charlotte area on a monthly basis, which helps educate individuals, especially women, on the basic building blocks of financial wellness.
When she isn’t working in her business, Robin enjoys spending time with her family, serving as a small group leader in her church, and volunteering for organizations like the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Beds for Kids, and Charlotte Rescue Mission.
