Luis is driven by a desire to make even the most complex financial strategies feel simple and approachable. His goal is to make life easier for his clients – freeing them up to focus on what they do best, while trusting that their financial future is in good hands.

He was born and raised in Guatemala before moving to the U.S., and his interest in financial services grew out of firsthand experiences with:

• How thoughtful planning can protect families during difficult times
• What it means to build stability from the ground up

He is passionate about helping others accomplish similar objectives in their own lives.

He began in the financial service industry in 2012 and worked at MassMutual, New York Life, and Allstate companies before joining the Emerald Financial Group team in 2023. He was drawn to the opportunity to join a team that values humility, collaboration, and results – and to serve clients who appreciate honesty, empathy, and excellence that’s delivered without pretense.

Luis specializes in working with business owners and high-net-worth individuals, helping them navigate wealth management, protection, and succession planning with clarity and confidence. With a background in psychology and a career built on relationships, he focuses on listening first and creating solutions that truly fit each client’s goals.

He earned a bachelor’s in psychology from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, and a master’s in human resources development and administration from Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala.

Baseball has been a fixture in Luis’ life since childhood. He played for the Guatemala national team for more than 15 years, played during college on a scholarship, was named most valuable player of when his team went to the Division II college world series, and received a medal for being an outstanding player in his sport from his home country in 2008. Now he coaches a boys traveling team in the Charlotte area, where Luis has called home since around 2020, along with his wife, children Kennedy and Jack, and dog Lincoln.
